Bernard Rose

Bernard Rose, pianist, is a graduate of Columbia College and the Juilliard School and has performed as soloist, accompanist and chamber musician across the country.

He has toured the United States under the auspices of Young Concert Artists, served as musical director of the New York Community Opera Company and worked on musical productions for educational television. He has appeared as piano soloist for numerous dancers and dance companies throughout the East, including Annabelle Gamson Dance Solos, the Joffrey Ballet, the Fort Worth (Texas) Ballet and American Ballet Theatre.

His affiliation with chamber ensembles includes the Claring Chamber Players, the West End Chamber Ensemble, the North Country Chamber Players, the Laurentian Quartet, the Audubon Quartet, the Rotterdam-based Daniel Quartet, and his own Cremona Arts Trio with whom he tours regularly.

Artists with whom he has collaborated include Walter Trampler, Nobuko Imai, Fred Sherry, Carol Wincenc, Eugene Fodor, Eugenia Zuckerman, Richard Goode, Jan Opalach, Lucy Shelton and members of the Tokyo String Quartet.

Recently he has co-founded the Concert Artists of Chappaqua and performed frequently at Bargemusic in Brooklyn. A dedicated teacher, many of his students are active performers in the US and internationally.

Rose taught both at Sarah Lawrence College and at CUNY College of Staten Island. He has recorded for the Library of Congress, KHI Records, and Centaur Records, Inc. in a recent recording of the chamber music of Albert Roussel.
