Joel Timm
Oboe - Artistic Coordinator

Joel Timm, PhD, a respected concert annotator and host, received both MMA and DMA degrees from Yale University. Acting as Associate Principal Oboe with the New York Philharmonic, he toured the US and made six recordings with Zubin Mehta.
Timm has performed as soloist with the New York Philharmonic, American Symphony, Philharmonia Virtuosi, White Mountains Festival, New York Virtuosi, Hudson Valley Philharmonic, and the Muir Quartet. He has held principal positions with the New Jersey Symphony, American Ballet Theater, and the Dance Theater of Harlem.
Currently on the faculty of the University of Southern California, Timm is Principal Oboe with the Joffrey Ballet, American Ballet Theater and Los Angeles Master Chorale. He also performs with the Pasadena Symphony and the J. Paul Getty Museum Chamber Music Series.
Active in the recording industry, Timm has recorded both classical works and the soundtracks for many major motion pictures.
